Come meet the artists in a laid back, small town atmosphere and admire their unique talents in a variety of mediums including oil, acrylic, watercolor, pencil, bronze, photography, wood, leather, silver, glass, gems, etc. We recognize there are many different ways to express personal creativity and respect and consider all mediums and techniques of making art that aims to connect rodeo, the arts and the western lifestyle. We strive to exhibit artwork by both established and developing artists and artisans and encourage their growth by putting on a quality show. We are located in the arena complex north across the highway from the Stampede Grandstand July 1-3 2016 (10:00am- 6:30pm)
The 2017 Ponoka Stampede poster comes to us from artist Andrew Kiss of Calgary, and features legendary Ponoka cowboy Bud Butterfield. Bud Butterfield dominated the steer wrestling event in Canada starting in 1956, winning two Ponoka Stampede titles, four Calgary Stampede titles, and an amazing six Canadian steer wrestling titles, including an incredible string of three in a row from 1958-1960.

Bud helped establish the Butterfield name as being synonymous with rodeo in Canada, and helped the Ponoka Stampede become one of the world’s leading rodeos. Bud has been inducted into the Canadian Professional Rodeo Hall of Fame, the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame, and received the Calgary Stampede Pioneers of Rodeo award. Bud continues to be an active part of the Ponoka Stampede family.

This is your chance to own a piece of the Ponoka Stampede’s history. A limited edition of 85 prints have been produced and are being offered for sale for $100.00 plus GST each, and the original artwork will be up for sale at the Ponoka Stampede Art Auction.
