Amber Marshall Meet and Greet

Ten Ponoka cowgirls will have a chance at a meet and greet with CBC Heartland’s Amber Marshall but time is running out.

Winners will be announced June 25th but there is still time to get in on the giveaway for the special meet and greet and for Amber Marshall, it’s a great opportunity to return to the Ponoka Stampede as she has taken in the rodeo several times.

“I’m excited for the atmosphere that always comes along with the Ponoka Stampede,” says Marshall.

“It’s the same energy as when a thunderstorm rolls in. You can just feel the electricity in the air and I love that.”

Ponoka has that small town feel with professional rodeo experience and for Marshall, being the star of CBC’s Heartland is one of those special experiences where she gets to perform as an actor in a life that she loves.

“I grew up in the city and I boarded my horse outside of where I lived. So, being able to move to Alberta and have the opportunity to have my horses at my home and to have the land and the space, to have cows and chickens and everything I’ve always dreamed of as a little kid was just an incredible opportunity,” says Marshall.

And then being able to give back to the community through this meet and greet gives her a chance to engage with young, aspiring horsewomen.

“When I get to meet young cowgirls who have grown up watching the show and grown up looking at Amy Fleming as a role model, and myself, too, I think that that’s a really special place to be in,” says Marshall. “And I don’t take that lightly.”

Marshall will be doing a special performance with trick rider, Piper Yule, which is another exciting experience as they have performed together at other rodeos before. It’s a great opportunity to meet both cowgirls right during the Ponoka Stampede.

As part of the 90th Ponoka Stampede’s Year of the Cowgirl, the association is giving 10 lucky winners the chance to enjoy an exclusive Meet & Greet with Amber Marshall, star of the hit TV show Heartland.
