What a Girl Wants
Ladies enjoy a morning filled with fellowship, beautiful dresses, high tea, flutes of bubbly champagne, lovely prizes and laughter all while raising monies for worthwhile causes. What a Girl Wants is held annually at the Stagecoach Saloon and is set for Saturday June 20 from 10am - 2pm. Enjoy high tea, raffles, silent auction and live auction. Thank you to all of the ladies who continue to support What a Girl Wants at the Ponoka Stampede. All proceeds raised are donated to the Central Alberta Women's Emergency Shelter, Ponoka Stepping Stones Project. Did you know? Since the inaugural What a Girl Wants Champagne Breakfast in 2011, together we have raised over $180,000.
Ladies, remember to get your tickets early as this popular event sells out quick. Purchase your tickets starting on May 1st.
What a Girl Wants is always looking for donations for the raffle, silent auction and live auction. In addition we love any volunteers who are willing to donate some time to this wonderful event.
PONOKA STAMPEDE RODEO CHALLENGE
Saturday June 27th 10:00 - 12:30pm
The Ponoka Stampede Rodeo Challenge is a 'unique little rodeo' for children between the ages of 5 and 18 who have a mental and/or physical challenge. The Rodeo Challenge is organized by volunteers and along with the support of sponsors and the Ponoka Stampede Association, these special contestants are paired with a cowboy/cowgirl to participate in a fun filled morning of modified rodeo events. Each contestant is a winner and presented with a trophy for their rodeo success (this is a secret best kept until trophy time).
Modified rodeo events include calf roping, flag picking, chuckwagon races, bull/bronc riding, wagon rides and a petting zoo. Following the rodeo is a hot dog lunch for the contestants, their families and volunteers. To finish off their rodeo day, each family receives complimentary tickets to the afternoon performance of the Ponoka Stampede Pro Rodeo.Register Now
